Is there Wi-fi access in Batanes?

Spread the love

Travelers should expect a non-existent signal and wi-fi. Batanes is a serene and quiet place and travelers journey here to avoid the stress of modern life.  While in Batanes, expect that major telecommunications companies in the Philippines won’t be able to reach the area. To get a signal and to be able to text your family and friends, you need to go outside. You will just get a decent 3G/Cellular data from your phone which is just good for texting your family and friends to let you know you are safe.  The best chance to get some online access is through the hotel office, but do not expect a fast signal. The best thing to do is go to Batanes when you are not planning any major work to be sent online- inform family members ahead of time that the signal would be weak or almost non-existent so you will not have communication problems back at home.

When you reach Batanes take some time to meditate, relax and just breathe deeply- try to detach from your mobile phone for a few hours and just rekindle your love affair with nature.
